a side project i'm building
world of temples
a living archive of hindu temples — because every temple has a story worth keeping
why i'm building it
some temples are easy to find. others live mostly in family memories, local conversations & the stories someone remembers to tell you after you arrive.
world of temples is an attempt to bring those threads together — the familiar landmarks, the little places, their traditions & the knowledge held by people who know them well.
not a list to race through. something slower, more useful & respectful of what each place means.

a few ways in
01
discover a place
find well-known temples & smaller places that deserve to be easier to discover, with enough context to understand why each one matters
02
learn the story
read about traditions, history & local details in a format made for curious visitors rather than a hurried checklist
03
remember the journey
use my yatra to keep a personal record of the temples you've visited & the journeys still waiting for you
local knowledge matters
the useful details often come from people close to a temple. contributions can help preserve those details while making the archive richer for the next curious visitor.
where it's at
the archive is being built & expanded over time. visit worldoftemples.com to see the current collection.
